Lanzarote offers plenty of paths and trails of different difficulty, both in the mountains and along the coast. Here you will find ravines and desert areas that might greatly hinder your progress.
Therefore, a simple but interesting mountainbike route from Arrecife would be to cycle to El Cable and then take the unpaved road that runs from the petrol station parallel to the motorway on the right.
This road will make you across the highway by going under a bridge and from there you will be able to follow a dirt road to Puerto del Carmen.
If you wish, you can go up to the village of La Candelaria, although this second option is more challenging.
